Meet Amani

“I came to Think Together because there was no one to take care of me afterschool,” Amani says. She’s starting fifth grade this school year and is one of over 150,000 kids attending Think Together programs throughout California this school year.

Amani has attended Think Together since kindergarten. Her mom works full-time and needed the extra support to make sure her daughter was safe and nurtured after school. Amani has experienced a lot of family loss and she explains through tears that the Think Together program has always been there to support her. “It helps me, I get to know kids and make friends.”

Amani’s favorite part about Think Together is when the different grades come together to play games. She loves to read and her favorite book is Dork Diaries. Amani has big dreams for the future and wants to attend USC and become a veterinarian.

As Think Together begins another school year, we welcome Amani and all the other students back to the place where they’re supported with homework, social and emotional learning, healthy living and all sorts of clubs and events.
