Many partners outside of our organization contribute to the success of our afterschool programs. THINK Together had the privilege of honoring one of those partners during today’s Santa Clara County After School Collaborative Breakfast of Champions. A local event to raise awareness on Lights On Afterschool and honor individuals who have helped make Santa Clara County after school programs exceptional.
Tracy Young, Principal at River Glen School in San Jose, has been an exceptional partner to THINK Together, offering our staff professional development opportunities and providing our organization with a unique space to run program. Thank you Principal Young for your commitment to our program and our staff. When students succeed, we all succeed.
Here is what Principal Young had to say about working with THINK and why afterschool is important to her.
THINK Together at River Glen has been my first experience with this program and now in my third year as River Glen’s principal, I am proud to be able to offer THINK Together program for my students. What makes THINK an exceptional program is that truly is an extension of the school day. We work in collaboration with THINK Together to offer support for students achievement, build parent and school connection and keep students safe.
My own personal afterschool experience includes receiving help with homework, playing games with classmates and school staff and exploring the world of art and musical theater. After school programs not only offered me the support I needed to be successful in school but it gave me a place to feel safe and cared for until I was able to go home.
Join Ms. Young and share your reasons why afterschool is important to you.
